I was born and raised in salem, Or. When I was fourteen my parents decided to separate. I couldn't choose between the two of them. So my rebellion began. I started to skip school daily,and I dropped out by the time I was 16. I was living with friends, couch to couch for about two years in lincoln city oregon. I was always able to hold a job, But it never seemed to add up. I was living paycheck to paycheck. And spending the majority of it on my addiction. I could see the brick wall at the end of this road, and I knew that if I didn't turn around I was going to hit it head on. My dad John Ledoux was living in Mccall at this time. He always told me how nice McCall was and described the beauty that surrounded him here.  At this point, my life was anything but beautiful and I wanted to experience that, I wanted to find peace within myself.

     On september 12, 2009 I got on a plane and moved to McCall to live with my dad John Ledoux, putting my past behind me and trying something new. after a couple months of cold weather and little work for my dad, I knew that if we wanted to stay here we would have to get creative.  so I told this to him.  His idea wasn't a new one, it was an old talent, but one he had never really pursued. wood burning. he started burning portraits of pets, then got me interested. now I love it.  It gives me something positive to do in this community and sometimes challenges me to want to do things that before I thought were too hard. I'm no longer afraid to try, do to fear of failure.  Because overcoming that fear has opened a whole new world to me, if I learn from my mistakes, my failures serve to make me stronger.

     We are now starting a non-profit organization called "Rising Rebels" pulling youth as well as adults into a life changing program. that leads to a new lifestyle and a much brighter and easier path to walk upon.  Making good friends, doing something you love to do, and having a blast along the way!  My name is Kara Ledoux,  and I am a "Rising Rebel"!
